Orange County California, isn't really know (or wasn't) or called "The OC" until our friends here made a fantastic television show featuring Mischa Barton (and others). The show the spawned the spin-off "Laguna Beach" on MTV, which has driven tourism through the roof. The great thing about that, is here in Laguna Niguel we are neighbors to Laguna Beach. Locals here, never say "I'm from the OC" or "I live in the OC", though we do encounter those lines of conversation while on a sojourn. The fact is, that Orange County is the home to a huge bustling economy without considering the publicity generated by television shows. People were here before, and we'll still be here later.
The economy of Orange County is large enough to dwarf many states by itself. Several major surf companies and extreme sports companies call Orange County home. The technology sector is well represented with so many large companies the least of which is Broadcom. John Wayne airport gives visitors and residents nationwide access, and even has direct flights to Hawaii. We're the home of Angels baseball, Anaheim Ducks, and ( no NFL team right now/yet).
Did I forget to mention Disneyland? Huntington Beach is known as Surf City USA. If you're in the mood to see a Ferrari or two then spend an afternoon in Newport Beach. As a visitor, Orange County will fill your schedule. As a resident, it will fill your lifetime. |
